Villa R

The villa is situated in the plan ‘Rietlanden’ developed by the local gouvernment of Terneuzen. In this plan, ample lots are offered in an environment with water and nature. The lots have a back of plantation and trees and opens to the water side. The building itself is divided into 4 volumes who are connected by a central hall combined with a long corridor that divides the lot in twoparts: a green (garden) area and a water-oriented part.

Each volume has its own related functions. On the ground floor we find the garage, storeroom, wardrobe, entrance hall, library and work room. On the first floor the bedrooms with private bathrooms are situated. In the garden we find the living room in an elliptical volume. In the volume on the waterfront we find the kitchen, second kitchen and the guest room. The space between the volumes on the water side is filled by terraces. The building is designed in a modern minimalist architecture. Applied colours are white, grey and black. All ceilings and walls are white, the floors have a different (grey-) colours. Each room has its own character and the life-style of the client has been expressed in this building.
